Woman arrested for theft
A Cicero woman was charged with retail theft at Marshalls, 7163 Cermak Road.

Sandra Reyes, 22, of Cicero was charged with retail theft after being arrested at about 7 p.m. Sept. 19 after an employee watching on the store’s camera system observed a woman placing items in her purse, police said.

Employees stopped Reyes as she was leaving the store without paying, police said.

The amount of merchandise recovered from the purse totaled about $83.

Video game systems stolen
An apartment was burglarized in the 6200 block of 26th Street Sept. 19, police said.

Officers were called to a report of a residential burglary at about 8 p.m. Sept. 19. When they arrived, the resident told police the apartment was burglarized and took several items.

Police found pry marks on the apartment door, a window broken in the apartment and a screwdriver on the floor.

The resident told police he was gone from noon to 8 p.m., and a neighbor who was home after 4 p.m. told police he did not hear or see anything unusual.

Items reported stolen include two televisions, Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 video game systems along with video games, and a diamond watch, valued at a total of $3,100.

Man punches window
A Berwyn man was charged with criminal damage to property after punching and breaking a window at MacNeal Hospital, 3249 Oak Park Ave.

Police were dispatched to the hospital at about 5:30 a.m. Sept. 20 to a report of damage to the property.

Officers spoke with a witness who observed a man punch an exterior window of the hospital and leave the scene, police said.

The officer watched surveillance video footage from the area and identified Rudy Abrejo, 20, of Berwyn as the man breaking the window, police said.

Hospital security told officers Abrejo was visiting a patient in the emergency room but was asked to leave after causing a disturbance, police said.

Officers found Abrejo at his Berwyn home and transported to the police station.
