Registration is due July 9 for residents wishing to participate in this year’s Planting Pride in Berwyn contest.
The annual contest, sponsored by the Berwyn Park District and Proksa Park Garden Club, encourages residents to beautify their home’s landscaping. Five winners will receive $100 and a plaque.
This year’s focus is curb appeal and only the home’s landscape that is visible from the curb will be judged. The emphasis will be on creativity, sustainability, and practicality. Proksa Park Garden Club members will judge the landscapes between July 12 and Aug. 15. An awards ceremony will be held at the Proksa Park multi-purpose room at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12.
Registration forms are available at all Park District offices, the Berwyn Public Library, 2701 S. Harlem Ave.; City Hall, 6700 26th St.; or online at the Park District’s Web site, berwynparks.org. Completed forms should be returned to the Proksa Park Activity Center, 3001 S. Wisconsin Ave. There is no entrance fee. For more information, call (708) 484-9513.
