A Berwyn man was sentenced to 45 years in prison last week for shooting at two off-duty Chicago police officers outside a Berwyn bar in 2004.
Jonas Haro, 24, was sentenced to 45 years in prison Oct. 14 after being convicted of two counts of attempted murder of a police officer and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.
The incident occurred in December 2004, where Haro and another man, Joseph Ayala, 28, entered the bar Fuggedaboudit, 7001 16th St., during a private party and were escorted out, police said.
About an hour later, the two men returned to the bar and got into a fight with two off-duty Chicago police officers, police said.
Neither officer was shot, and Ayala was arrested that night. Haro turned himself into police later.
Ayala pleaded guilty last year and was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison.
