‘Improved’ rail crossings need improvements
Starting at Ridgeland, I drove across the nine crossings going into Riverside.
Of the nine crossings, four were improved: Ridgeland, Oak Park, Harlem and Riverside Road in Riverside.
Driving across the other five was like driving on a pile of rocks, especially Home Avenue, which I have to cross many times a week.
Does Burlington Northern think these are “improved”? I’m sure these “improved” crossings are very hard on my car. I sure hope something can be done to improve the “improved” crossings.

Council must be joking with plan for laptops
When people think of comedy troups, the Berwyn City Council probably wouldn’t immediately come to most people’s minds.
But this new group should be on Broadway.
The same group that cancels our Fourth of July celebrations to save money wants us to buy them laptops? Yes, we would have to buy the machines. But in order for them to use the laptops, won’t they need a system to hook them up?
The minutes just would not come free through the air, and then they would want us also to pay for they Comcast or AT&T hookups so that they could use them. Just so that we could save on some paper.
The fireworks for this year’s celebration would have had to have been ordered and paid for last year for the shipment to have been made.
So what are they going to do with them now that the celebration was canceled? Pay to store them? Is there a cancellation fee?
Get me some popcorn. This group is just too funny for words.
