Two public forums are scheduled for this month in the search for Morton J. Sterling School District 201’s next full-time superintendent.
These two public forums are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Morton West High School, 2400 S. Home Ave., Berwyn, and at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Morton East High School, 2423 S. Austin Blvd., Cicero.
Those who attend these sessions will be asked what they want in the district’s next superintendent, and will be broken down into focus groups, according to the district.
Interim Superintendent Clyde Senters took the post Sept. 15. Prior to Senters, Frank Zarate, Jr., Morton East High School principal, filled the interim superintendent’s post in addition to his duties as principal.
District 201 covers Berwyn, Cicero, Forest View, Lyons, McCook and Stickney. According to district attendance figures, more than 8,000 students are educated in the district’s schools.
Residents who want to participate in the forums must call the district’s office at (708) 222-5702 to register. Participants must complete a “Leadership Profile Assessment” form before the meeting.
This form is available, to be downloaded on the district’s Web site at jsmortonhs.com.
