Staff and administrators in South Berwyn School District 100 are joining those from districts across the state Saturday, Nov. 15, to thank elected officials on School Board Members Day in Illinois.
District 100 school board members include president Joanne Zendol, who has served on the board for 20 years; vice president Elizabeth Pechous, who has served for 12 years; secretary James Swicionis, on the board for six years, board member Dawn Rinehart, who has served for four years; and board members Carol Frankovic, Anthony Harris and Joanne Zaworski, all of whom have been on the board for two years.
“School board members serve countless hours working to make public education the best it can be for every child,” District 100 superintendent Stanley Fields said. “In a climate of change and challenge, they develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues that affect the entire community and the lives of individual students. They bear responsibility and oversight in District 100 for an annual budget of $32 million, 3,665 students in grades (early childhood) to eight, more than 400 employees and eight campuses.”
