
The city of Berwyn encourages all former and current residents and other community members to participate in the events it has planned in honor of the 100th anniversary of its incorporation as a city. All events are from the City of Berwyn’s official Centennial calendar.

June 1 — Centennial Parade
A parade celebrating the city’s centennial anniversary will walk west on Cermak Road from Lombard Avenue to Home Avenue and Morton West High School, 2400 Home Ave.
June 1 — Historic Berwyn’s Centennial Bungalow Tour
The Berwyn Historical Society will host its third annual Bungalow Tour from noon to 5 p.m. on June 1, in commemoration of the city’s 100th birthday.
June 6 — Centennial dinner and dance
The city will host a dinner and dance in honor of the anniversary at Skylite West Banquet Hall from 6 p.m. to midnight. For more information or to purchase the tickets for $50 per person, contact dinner-dance committee chairwoman Debi Suchy at (708) 788-2660, Ext. 226.
June 8 — Rededication of centennial fountain at Mraz Park
The Berwyn Park District has restored and will be rededicating a long, out-of-service fountain in Mraz Park in honor of the city’s centennial. A rededication ceremony will be held at the park, at 23rd Street and Oak Park Avenue.
June 11 — Third Ward celebration
Berwyn’s Third Ward will host an outdoor ice cream social to celebrate the centennial from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 3131 Wisconsin Ave.
June 14 — Centennial picnic
The city and Berwyn Park District will host a picnic for all residents in honor of the city’s anniversary from 1 to 4 p.m. in Proksa Park, 3001 Wisconsin Ave. Free hot dogs, chips and soda will be provided to everyone in attendance.
June 18-22 — Centennial festival
A five-day festival in honor the city’s 100th anniversary will be held and will include music, food, rides, fireworks and more. For a detailed listing of festival actvities, see page 10.
Sept. 28 — Historic Berwyn bus tour
The Berwyn Historical Society will host a bus tour showing participants historically significant places within the city.
