Berwyn railroad crossings breached

Berwyn police conducting a railroad safety education and enforcement exercise at 5 p.m. May 18 near 6401 W. 31st St. gave tickets to 10 people for entering the grade crossings “while the red lights were activated, bells sounding, and gates lowering while trains were approaching.”

Those ticketed were Marcina Asmar, 56,  3606 Home Ave., Berwyn; Willie Williams, 38, 3103 Scoville Ave., Berwyn; Juan Martinez, 44, of Chicago; Aida Mendez, 24, of Chicago; Julio Carmona, 21, of Chicago; Laura Zamura, 38, of Summit; David Goeing, 59, of Oak Forest; Kathryn Bernards, 62, of Chicago; Sofia Luna, 40, 4625 S. Wisconsin Ave., Forest View; and John Lynch, 52, 316 Herrick Road, Riverside, police said.
