Man charged with not having firearms card
David S. Golan, 57, 101 N. Wisconsin Ave., Addison, was charged with owning firearms without a valid firearms owners identification card at about 1:45 p.m. Oct. 23 at his residence.
Police said the charges were a result of a warrant that was issued after firearms were found in the home during an investigation of a small fire in March 2007.

Sunglasses reported stolen at Addison store
Police are investigating a theft at a local business after two men came into the store asking to see several pairs of glasses. When the clerk went to call police to report the men’s suspicious behavior, a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses were missing. The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. Oct. 24 at an unnamed business along the 1200 block of West Lake Street, police said.
No description was given on the suspects, and no value was given on the missing sunglasses.

I-Pod, charger reported stolen from unlocked car
A resident along the 1200 block of Keebie Court reported an iPod music player and a charger were stolen from an unlocked vehicle between 11:45 a.m. Nov. 5 and 7 a.m. Nov. 6. No loss estimate was given on the missing items.

Police investigate case of identity theft
A resident along the 100 block of Comstock Avenue reported an unknown person had fraudulently used his credit card information for an Internet sales transaction between Oct. 29 and about 2:15 p.m. Nov. 11, police said.
Police did not indicate the amount of money that was made in the unauthorized transaction.

Paintball strikes house on Stonemill Road
Police said a resident along the 900 block of Stonemill Road reported a paintball gun was fired from a moving vehicle and at least one round struck the front window of their residence at about 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6, police said.
The vehicle was only described as a dark-colored car. No damage estimate was reported.

Car reported burglarized at Empress Banquets
Police said a resident reported someone had broken the rear driver’s side window of a locked vehicle and removed several items between 6 p.m. Nov. 4 and noon Nov. 5 at Empress Banquets, 200 E. Lake Street.
Among the items reported taken included jewelry, a portable computer, and a video camera. No value was given on the stolen items.

Wood Dale
Elmwood Park man charged with drunken driving
Gregory Caraballo, Jr., 42, of Elmwood Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 12 near Marshall Street and Irving Park Road, police said.

Van reported burglarized, damaged at local business
Police said an employee at a local business reported a toolbox stolen from a van that had all of its windows and mirrors broken at about 2 a.m. Nov. 10 at Inktel Direct, 1269 N. Wood Dale Road, police said.

Items reported taken from parked vehicle
Police said a window was reported smashed and a radar detector taken from a vehicle parked near Station Drive and Duck Lane at about 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11, police said.
No damage or loss estimate was given in the burglary.
