Local man charged with garbage scavenging

Steven Augustyn, 18, 1515 Devon Ave., Bensenville, was charged with scavenging without a permit and vagrancy at about 7:30 p.m. June 19 at 112 Garden Ave., police said.

Chicago man faces warrant charges

Peterson Valdez, 31, of Chicago, was charged on an outstanding arrest warrant at about 11 a.m. June 19 along the 100 block of east George Street, police said.

Vehicle reported damaged along York Road

Police said a resident reported a vehicle was scratched on both sides while it was parked at about 10:30 a.m. June 19 along the 1100 block of South York Road, police said.

Local man faces battery charge

Clifford H. Carter, 19, of the 500 block of Main Street, Bensenville, was charged with battery at about 10 p.m. June 18 at his residence, police said.

Police probe report of threatening phone calls

Police are investigating a report from a resident along the 100 block of George Street that an unknown male has been making threatening and harassing phone calls to the resident. The incident was reported at about 6:30 p.m. June 18, police said.

Chicago man charged with suspended driver’s license

Melina Garcia, 22, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license at about 8:45 a.m. June 18 near the intersection of Grand Avenue and York Road, police said.

Company vehicles reported damaged in work lot

Police said an employee of a business along the 500 block of County Line Road reported several work vehicles were damaged at about 5 a.m. June 18, police said.

Man cited for playing music to loudly

Jamie DeLeon, 34, 407 Walnut Ave., Wood Dale, was charged with playing music too loudly at about 11:30 p.m. June 22 at his residence, police said.

Woman reports trashed apartment

Police said a woman along the 400 block of West Jennifer Court reported someone entered her apartment and damaged several items, including a couch that was slashed. The incident was reported at about noon June 22, police said.

The woman accused an ex-boyfriend of the damage, police said. No charges have been filed in the incident.

Youngsters reported throwing rocks at cars

Police said they responded to a call of several juveniles throwing rocks at cars at about 8 p.m. June 21 near the intersection of Wood Dale Road and Devon Avenue.

The youngsters fled when police arrived at the scene, according to police reports.
A motorist said his car was struck, and a passenger of another car reported he was hit with a rock, police said. No injuries were reported.
