A vehicle on the 700 block of John Street was broken into and a navigation system, two MP3 music players, clothing and other items were removed. The incident was reported at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 10. No damage was reported to the vehicle.
Man charged with damaging property
Wilfred Belmontes, 23, 1041 Ferarri Drive, was charged with criminal damage to property at 5 a.m. Aug. 10 at 1001 Ferarri Drive.
Man charged with public drunkenness
Korbol Zbigniew, 47, 224 N. Walnut St., was charged with public intoxication at 1 a.m. Aug. 10 near his residence.
Home on Hillside Drive burglarized
A home on the 1000 block of Hillside Drive was burglarized and $2,000 in cash and jewelry was taken. The incident was reported at 10 p.m. Aug. 9.
Police: Man was driving without license
Oscar Garcia, 25, 440 Miner St., was charged with driving without a valid license at 12:45 p.m. Aug. 8 near Irving Park and Church roads.

Electronics stolen in vehicle burglary
A vehicle window was smashed along the 800 block of North Swift Road and two televisions and a navigation system were removed. The incident was reported at 7:30 p.m. July 30. No loss estimate was given.
Pair faces multiple charges
Jesse A. Smetters and Crystl B. Smetters, both 24, and both of 429 N. Maple Ave., Wood Dale, where charged with not wearing seat belts during a traffic stop at 1 p.m. July 31 near Palmer Drive and Villa Avenue.
Crystl Smetters was also charged with not having her child restrained properly in the vehicle, and Jesse Smetters was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and two outstanding warrants.
Volo man faces drug charges
Kenneth P. Black, 20, of Volo was charged with possession of marijuana, driving under the influence of marijuana, no seat belt and possession of drug paraphernalia at noon p.m. July 29 near Ellsworth Avenue and Lake Street.

Car burglarized at Double Tree
The driver’s side window of a vehicle parked at the Double Tree Hotel, 1200 N. Mittel Blvd., was broken and a radar detector and navigation unit were removed from the vehicle. The incident was reported at 6:45 a.m. Aug. 2.
Police seek ‘peeping toms’
Two 16- or 17-year-old males were seen peeping through windows of a home on the 400 block of Dunlay Street. The incident was reported at 5 p.m. Aug. 3.
