Police report rash of license plate thefts
Addison police reported eight different complaints of license plates stolen from cars at various locations around the village between Feb. 23 and March 6.
In most of the cases, the front plate was removed from the vehicle by unknown means, according to police.
Police said the most recent incidents occurred between March 5 and 6, when residents reported plates taken off vehicles along the 1500 block of Malloy Drive, the 400 block of West Fullerton Avenue, and the 500 block of Valerie Lane.
Police investigate dumping of hazardous material
An employee of a business along the 1100 block of National Avenue reported someone had dumped an aluminum can near a Dumpster containing sodium cyanide, a chemical police said was hazardous, sometime on Feb. 21.
No exact time was given, police said.
Fire units were called to the scene, and arrangements were made to safely dispose of the can, police said.
No information was available on who may have dumped the chemical.
Paint reported sprayed on vehicle along Lake Street
A resident reported someone spray painted a red Chevrolet with white paint at about 8 a.m. March 1 at 70 W. Lake St., police said.
Car reported burglarized in DeVry parking lot
The driver’s side window of an Acura was reported shattered and a combination television/DVD/MP3 player unit was reported stolen from the vehicle sometime between 1 and 3 p.m. March 4 at DeVry University, 1221 N. Swift Road.
Police also said there was damage reported to the center console of the car. No loss or damage estimate was given.

Front window reported damaged at Laundromat
A window was reported shattered at about 6:45 a.m. March 9 at a Laundromat along the 0-100 block of East Green Street, police said. No damage estimate was given.
Local man charged with domestic battery
Carlos Rodriguez, 24, of the 200 block of Pine Avenue, was charged with domestic battery after an incident that occurred at about 7 p.m. March 7 at his home.
Homeless man charged with trespass at complex
James A. Sprenger, 47, no known address, was charged with trespassing at about 11 a.m. March 7 at an apartment complex along the 1000 block of South York Road, police said.
Police said trailer tires damaged at local business
An employee of a local business reported someone damaged five tires on trailers parked in the lot of the business at about 8:50 a.m. March 7 along the 900 block of Industrial Drive, police said.
Flags reported ripped down in front of home
A resident along the 100 block of North Addison Street reported someone ripped down two American flags displayed on the front of the house at about 3:45 p.m. March 6, police said.
Car reported burglarized along George Street
A resident reported someone broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle and took a navigation system and an Apple i-Pod at about 8:30 a.m. March 6 along the 100 block of East George Street, according to police reports.
No loss estimate was given on the items.
Bensenville resident faces drug possession charges
Agnieszka H. Glodkowska, 34, 120 E. George St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance at about 8 a.m. March 6 at 100 Thorndale Ave., police said.

Chicago man charged with drunken driving
Joseph M. Turner, 31, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at about 3 a.m. March 10 near the intersection of Route 83 and Frontage Road, police said.
Man charged with filing false report
Jeffrey J. Kruetzel, 27, 7N014 Pine Ave., Bensenville, was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he allegedly filed a false police report at about 5:30 p.m. March 9 along the 200 block of West School Street, police said.
Man charged for alleged disturbance at Taco Bell
David M. Brazeau, 49, 1264 Inverness Lane, Itasca, was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he allegedly caused a disturbance at about 12:30 a.m. March 9 at Taco Bell, 322 W. Irving Park Road, police said.
