Firefighters pull bales of smoldering hay from a barn on the AJ Angus Farm west of Atlanta Monday morning. A fire broke out at the barn shortly after 10:30 a.m. When the owner called firefighters at 10:47 a.m., he said he could see lots of smoke but no flames and he assumed his hay was on fire. Nick Hanson of the Logan County Paramedics said the barn was full of hay. “There was smoke in the barn, and when we got here, it was fully involved,” Hanson said. Fire and rescue units responded from Atlanta, Beason, Emden, Lincoln Rural, Armington and Mount Hope-Funks Grove. Firefighters continued to work on salvaging the structure until almost 1 p.m.
