BATAVIA
Assault and battery alleged
Timothy B. O’Shea, 18, of 503 Roberts Lane, was taken into custody at 11:05 p.m. April 1 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery, two counts of criminal damage to property, attempted obstruction and consumption of alcohol by a minor. O’Shea was released with a court date of April 21 after posting $100 bond.

Minors charged with alcohol
Juan C. Dieppa, 19, of 221 N. Prairie St., was taken into custody at 12:37 a.m. April 2 on the 300 block of West Wilson Street and charged with speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol and unlawful consumption of alcohol. Dieppa posted $100 bond and was released with a court date of April 21.

Retail theft charges filed
n Hannah B. Suerth, 21, 416 Cambridge Ave., Elburn, and Stacy A. Muir, 19, 347 S. Gladstone Ave., Aurora, were taken into custody at 9:47 p.m. April 2 and charged with theft of clothing. Suerth allegedly took items valued at $155 from Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road. Muir allegedly took clothing valued at $96. Suerth and Muir were both processed and released with a court date of May 11 after each posting $100 bond.
n Nadine T. Goldstein, 60, 1S751 Green Road, Elburn, was taken into custody at 12:26 p.m. March 19 at Jewel-Osco, 119 S. Randall Road, processed and charged with retail theft and criminal trespass to property. Goldstein is charged with taking a pack of cigarettes valued at $5.
n Cira Samperi, 71, 1716 South Court, was charged with retail theft at 9:48 a.m. March 20 for allegedly taking a pound of cheese and a pound of turkey valued at $6 from Amstrad’s Finer Foods, 28 S. Van Buren. Samperi was taken into custody, processed, and released with a court date of April 21. The suspect also was given a trespass warning.
n Starsun M. Williams, 51, 1880 Sapphire Lane, Aurora, was charged with retail theft at 11:57 a.m. March 21. Police said Williams was observed taking two DVDs and several paint brushes valued at $84 from Menards, 300 N. Randall Road. The suspect was taken into custody, processed and released with a court date of May 5 after posting $100 bond.

Drug production alleged
Kurtis J. Nelson, 22, 211 Spring St., was taken into custody March 23 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana plants, unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a look-a-like substance with intent to deliver.

Apartment burglarized
A resident at the Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway had her purse taken from her apartment. The reporting officer advised that the resident contact her bank and cancel her credit cards.

Threatening phone calls
A resident of the 500 block of Norcross reported at 4:24 p.m. Friday kbeese 4/7/09 April 3 that six or seven telephone calls from an unknown male threatening to kill him and his family have been made to his home. There is an investigation pending.

Battery arrest made
Thomas M. Shover, 66, 2552 Spring Green Way, was charged with battery at 3:15 p.m. Friday kbeese 4/7/09 April 3 at Walgreens, 1918 W. Fabyan Parkway. A Geneva resident was pushed by Shover, police said. Shover was taken into custody, processed and released with a court date of May 12.

Stereo, MP3 player taken
A Lockport resident reported at 11:45 a.m. Friday kbeese 4/7/09 April 3 reported that an in-dash stereo, valued at $400, an MP3 player, valued at $300, and a subwoofer with speaker, valued at $500, were stolen from his vehicle in the parking lot of A C Compressor Inc., 1400 Louis Bork Drive. 

Suspicious calls reported
A resident reported at 1:15 a.m. Sunday kbeese 4/7/09 April 5 two suspicious telephone calls in which a subject indicated that he had broken one of her windows.  No damage was noted on the residence. The call-back number showed up as the Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, police said.

Drug possession alleged
kb bb Steven S. Kelleher, 17, was taken into custody at 8:40 a.m. March 25 at Batavia High School, 1200 W. Wilson.  Kelleher was transported to the police department, processed and charged with possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school.

GENEVA
Burglaries on Commons
n Officers responded to the 1600 block of Commons Drive at 3:02 p.m. March 24 for a burglary report. The complainant said that between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. that day, an offender entered her 2006 Jeep Liberty and took her Garmin Nuvi GPS, valued at $300. The victim said she was “100 percent” sure that she locked her vehicle’s doors.
n A complainant reported at 8:22 p.m. March 25 that on March 24, he left his Blackberry Pearl plugged in and sitting on the dashboard of his car at Barnes & Noble, 102 Commons Drive. When he returned to the car, the Blackberry was gone.  There is no offender information that could be provided. The telephone belonged to the man’s company.
n Officers responded to a parking lot on the 500 block of Commons Drive at 10:45 a.m. March 19 in reference to a burglary to a motor vehicle. The victim said that between 10:20 and 10:30 a.m., she parked her 2003 Honda Odyssey van in the general parking lot. When the victim came back, she observed that the front passenger window was broken and her laptop computer, valued at $600, and GPS system, valued at $199, were missing. Including an estimated $250 in damage to the window, total loss was estimated at $1,049.

Possession of alcohol charge
An officers stopped a gray Chrysler Town and Country at 11:51 a.m. March 20 on the 800 block of Geneva Drive, which was allegedly traveling 38 mph on a 30-mph road. Police said the vehicle’s occupants also were observed drinking beer. The officer said he noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. The driver apologized and said she didn’t know she was speeding. When the car was searched, the officer allegedly found a partially full can of Miller High Life. The officer confiscated the beer and advised the passenger, Isaac Ocasio, 31, of the 100 block of Moore Avenue in St. Charles, that he would be issued a citation for illegal possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle. The driver was given a speeding ticket.

Theft of furniture
Officers responded to a theft call from Le Berry Bistro, 227 S. Third St., at 9:21 p.m. March 20.  The business owner said he had two white wrought iron chairs, a red wrought iron bench, and eight white vinyl chairs stolen from his establishment. Total value was estimated at $320.

Bike stolen
On March 21, officers responded to a theft report on the 500 block of Willow. The complainant stated at 6:45 a.m. March 19, her daughter rode her bicycle to Geneva High School, 514 McKinley, and when she returned at 2:45 p.m., the bike was missing.  Her daughter stated that she locked the bike up near the entrance to the school on Logan Avenue. The bright blue Columbia 26-inch mountain bike, was valued at $350.

Garage window broken
At 1:35 p.m. March 22, police responded to first block of Burgess Road for a report of criminal damage to property. Police spoke with the complainant who stated that between 8 p.m. March 21 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. March 22, an offender broke the outer pane of glass of a two-pane, 4-inch by 2-inch garage window. Damage was estimated at $100.

St. Charles
Turn signal, wheels taken
kb bb n The turn signal was stolen from a 2004 Volvo S40 on the 200 block of Chasse Circle between 10 p.m. March 19 and 11:30 a.m. March 20.
n Four wheels valued at $600 were stolen from a 2000 Honda Civic on the 100 block of Lakeside Drive between midnight and 6:45 a.m. March 25. The car was left on two plastic crates.
n A GPS unit and an iPod cord, total value of $170, were stolen from a car on the first block of Lakewood Circle between noon March 21 and 7:15 a.m. March 23. Another GPS unit was stolen on the same block between 6 p.m. March 21 and 10 a.m. March 22.
n A wallet containing three credit cards was stolen from a car on the 1700 block of Jay Lane between 9 p.m. March 22 and 7:30 a.m. March 23.
n Two lug-nut covers valued at $20 each were stolen from a Chevrolet Monte Carlo between 2:30 and 9:15 p.m. March 12 on the 1600 block of Covington Court.

Rock thrown through window
A rock was thrown through the front window of a home on the 1000 block of Persimmon Drive between 5 p.m. March 15 and 8 p.m. March 18. Damage was estimated at $300.

Drunken-driving charges
n Vladimir Pavlovic, 25, of Elgin, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 1 a.m. March 15 on the 1600 block of East Main Street. He was arrested as part of Kane County’s “no-refusal” drunken-driving enforcement.
n Stephen G. Fuller, 23, 1185 Persimmon Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and making an improper stop at 1:15 a.m. March 14 on the 1600 block of East Main Street.
n Mark A. Cressler, 42, of Elk Grove Village, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol shortly after midnight March 14 after a traffic stop on the 2700 block of East Main Street.
n Kennith D. West, 21 d.o.b.: 4/19/87, of Davison, Mich., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 1 a.m. March 24 after a traffic stop on the 3700 block of East Main Street.
n Daniel M. Rak, 23, of Sycamore, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and making an improper turn at an intersection at 1 a.m. March 26, after a traffic stop on the 1100 block of West Main Street.
kb n Matthew J. Baugher, 22, of Carol Stream, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and illegal transportation of open alcohol at 12:15 a.m. March 7 after a traffic stop on the 3500 block of West Main Street.
n Vincent A. Battista Jr., 40, of West Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to dim headlights for an approaching vehicle at 12:15 a.m. March 10 on the 1200 block of North Kirk Road.
n Jesusita Rosas-Enriquez, 22, 225 S. 18th St., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle at 5 a.m. March 11 after she was found sleeping in the driver’s seat of her sport utility vehicle on the 600 block of North 12th Street. The vehicle was stuck in a retention pond, according to police.
n Israel Smith, 26, of DeKalb, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 2 a.m. March 14 after a traffic stop on the first block of North Tyler Road.
n Danielle M. Clark, 28, of Elgin, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane use at 2:30 a.m. March 15 after a traffic stop on the 1700 block of West Main Street. Clark was arrested as part of the Kane County St. Patrick’s Day no-refusal enforcement.
n Mark J. Carlson, 41, 700 Mosedale St., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle, and cited for a broken light over his rear license plate at 12:45 a.m. March 19 after a traffic stop on the 1700 block of Dean Street.
n John P. Hopkins, 26 dob 4/2/83, of Elgin, was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane use at 1:15 a.m. March 20 after a traffic stop on Route 31 and Red Gate Road.
n Lisa K. Sullivan, 41, 274 Tower Hill Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use at 11:45 p.m.  March 20 after a traffic stop on the 2900 block of Campton Hills Road.

City building vandalized
 Two windows, each valued at $200, were broken at a city building at  2900 N. Fifth Ave., at 2:30 p.m. March 17. A door of the building also was egged.

Retail theft arrests
n Janai T. Norman and Emily E. Porter, both 20-year-old DeKalb residents, were charged with felony retail theft at 4:45 p.m. March 23 for allegedly stealing clothing valued at nearly $700 from the Von Maur store in Charlestowne Mall, 3810 E. Main St.
n Jaclyn F. Graffagna, 20, 40W945 Mulhern Drive, was charged with retail theft and possession of alcohol by minor at 8:30 p.m. March 23 for allegedly stealing a bottle of rum and several makeup items, total value of $50, from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road.
n Alicia C. Alford, 17, of Wayne, was charged with retail theft at 2:30 p.m. March 25 for allegedly stealing clothing valued at $62 from Von Maur.

Drug possession alleged
Frank G. Demichel, 34, 420 S. Fourth St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 9:30 a.m. March 24. Demichel was in possession of five prescription pills and less than a gram of heroine, according to police.

Theft charged
n Frederick W. Dumag, 31, of Glendale Heights, and Natalia  Konarkowska, 24, of Palatine, were arrested on theft and drug-related  charges at 4:45 p.m. March 6 after allegedly stealing four bottles of cognac from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road.
Dumag had small amounts of cocaine and heroin in his possession, and Konarkowska had a container with residue of the drugs, according to police.
Dumag was charged with felony retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a theft-detection shield. Konarkowska was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
n John L. Williams, 48, and James P. Overback, 17, both of 112 N. First St., Geneva, were charged with felony retail theft at 8:15 p.m. March 15 for allegedly stealing more than $300 worth of fishing lures from Meijer.
n Lauren A. Richards, 20, and Sara M. Richards, 18, both of West Chicago, were charged with retail theft at 8:15 p.m. March 16 for allegedly stealing clothing valued at $50 from Kohl’s, 3840 E. Main St.
n Anahi Gervacio, 24, of Elgin, was charged with retail theft at 4 p.m.  March 21 for allegedly stealing two purses valued at $36 from Sears, 3700 E. Main St.
n Todd R. Greenwell, 26, of Elgin, was charged with retail theft at 2 p.m. March 21 for allegedly stealing a bottle of whiskey valued at $45 from Meijer.

Police called to parking garage
Michael A. Morris, 19, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested in the parking deck at 100 Illinois St. at 1 p.m. March 20 on an outstanding warrant for battery from Cook County. Police were called to the parking deck for a report of two people having sex in a blue Jeep on the third level of the garage.

Man arrested completing court-ordered service
Daniel F. Schiller, 19, 3N362 Ponderosa Drive, was charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:30 p.m. March 5 after police allegedly found a wooden pipe and a plastic bag containing marijuana in his pocket while he was working at the Police Department to complete court-ordered community service.

Man charged with kicking car hood
Jason D. Schag, 24, 1718 Wessel Court, was charged with criminal damage to property at 11 p.m. March 19, for allegedly stomping on the hood of a car after being kicked out of St. Charlies Pub & Grill, 312 W. Main St. Schag was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Kendall County for failure to appear in court, according to police.
