Boy Scouts honor community leaders

Jerry Rich of Rich Harvest Farms and Midwest Groundcovers LLC will be honored as the 2009 Distinguished Citizen and Corporation by the Boy Scouts of America Three Fires Council on Thursday.
The Distinguished Citizen Award Luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 5 at Pheasant Run, 4051 E. Main St.
The Scouts will recognize Rich and Midwest Groundcovers for their dedication to community service and developmental welfare of its youth.
Proceeds from the event will support the Scoutreach program, which ensures that Scouting’s leadership and character-building benefits are available to at-risk youth.
