City announces new disposal fees

BATAVIA, IL -
New waste pickup fees will be enacted July 1.
Refuse and yard waste stickers will now cost $2.67. Large prepaid refuse bags will be $2.82.
Batavia city officials said there will be a grace period for old stickers to be used, but they still are not sure how long it will be.
The city has a contract with Veolia Waste Services for a weekly pickup for residents. Large garbage carts are available for rent if stickers are not used.
Carts can range from a 35-gallon cart for $15.85 a month to a 95-gallon cart for $20.35 a month.
