Construction site theft
At 9:35 a.m. June 5, a construction site at 1681 Hubbard Ave. reported a missing $2,500 lift that was rented from Time Savers Inc. Upon completion of the job, TSI came to the site to retrieve the lift. It was not on site and could not be located.
Theft from motor vehicle
At 7:44 p.m. June 6 at Target, 115 N. Randall Road, a driver’s side window of a car was broken and a GPS system valued at $200 was missing. The repair cost of the window is unknown.
Solicitors charged
Brian M. Umphrey, 19, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, was taken into custody and charged with illegal use of a credit card and soliciting without a permit. Cassey D. Keith, 19, of Rapid City, South Dakota, was taken into custody and charged with solicitation without a permit.
Alcohol charges filed
Jessica L. Hammersmith, 17, 1N878 Killarney Court, Elburn; Dana R. Bujalski, 18, 751 Lancaster Lane, Geneva; and Thomas R.B. Grimston, 18, 1435 Thora Road, were all issued citations for consumption of alcohol by minors at 8:35 p.m. June 8. They all are set to appear in court July 14.
Three tires stolen from car
At 1:17 a.m. June 11, an unknown subject in a black hooded sweatshirt was spotted by a vehicle. The subject took off running down the street. There was a vehicle parked in a driveway with three tires missing. The vehicle still was being held up by a jack. Wheel and rim combinations are valued at $200 each.

Possession charges filed
Joseph M. Nathan, 20, 227 1/2 N. First St., was issued tickets for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana at about 1:23 p.m. June 4 at the 7-Eleven parking lot, 621 W. State St. Nathan was picked up on a warrant for forgery, with bond set at 10 percent of $50,000. A court date of July 14 has been set.
Beer stolen from garage
At 7:13 p.m. June 6, a complainant said between 6:30 and 7 p.m., unknown subjects removed one case of Mike’s Hard Lemonade and two 12 packs of Leinenkugles Red Beer from garage. The estimated loss is $45.
Underage party busted
A neighbor reported she saw a 17-year-old boy, John L. Martinez, 2552 Lorraine Circle, drinking when she knew Martinez’s parents were away at 10:15 May 30. Police got permission to enter the house from the parents, but Martinez held the front lock down when the officers tried to open the door. Officers then got in a struggle with Martinez after trying to open the garage door. Martinez was charged with obstructing police, resisting a peace officer and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Others were issued unlawful consumption charges, including: Christina Adekun, 18, of Aurora; Garrett Grinnell, 18, 0N950 Killey Lane, Geneva; Andrea Colton, 19, of North Aurora; Zachary Andrew Kammerer, 18, 1566 Fargo Blvd., Geneva; Casey Scott, 18, 289 Mill Drive, Batavia; Robert Francis, 18, 2705 Chatham Court, Geneva; and Scott Myles Francis, 17, 2705 Chatham Court, Geneva.
Drug-related charges filed
Michael J. Howard, 21, 1345 Dunham Court, was found sleeping in his car wrapped in a blanket at 2:47 a.m. June 2. An officer observed Howard sleeping with the car off and the keys in the ignition and smelled alcohol. Howard later said he was celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday in St. Charles. Howard was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. Howard showed the officer his bar tab and later had a breathalyzer test to prove he was not over the limit.
Damage to property alleged
At 3:55 p.m. June 10, an unknown offender damaged the rear taillight of a motor vehicle at 1017 Dunstan Road by striking it with an unknown object. Value is said to be $50.
Intoxication cited
Scott D. Amacher, 29, 1237 Alexander Court, was spotted by officers lying on his side on a sidewalk in front of Old Towne Pub, 201 W. State St., at 1:57 a.m. June 10. Two other subjects tried to help him up, and he began to struggle. Officers told someone to drive Amacher home immediately, which he was. Amacher was given a citation for public intoxication.
DUI charged
n Dion Powell, 40, 758 Fox Run Drive, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence at 9:50 p.m. June 7 on the 1400 block of Fairway Circle. Powell also was charged with failure to signal.
n Douglas J. Millsaps, 46, 843 Wescott, Bolingbrook, was pulled over on the first block of Ford Street and arrested for two counts of driving under the influence at 3:05 a.m. June 6.
Attempted burglary
At 9:31 p.m. June 8, residents at 1070 Division St. heard someone outside their home. When they looked outside, they saw a man run away. There was minimal damage to the screen on a window, which the suspect tried to pry open.
Bicycle stolen from garage
At 1:05 p.m. June 8, a resident had his bike stolen from his house. The garage door was left open earlier in the day.
Recovery of stolen motor vehicle
Eric W. Lee, 46, 140 S. Lake St. Aurora, led officers on a brief chase starting at Fabyan Parkway and Randall Road before pulling into the north entrance of Delnor Hospital. The vehicle was recognized by officers as being stolen from Winnebago County. Lee also had an active warrant for domestic battery through Montgomery, along with a suspended driver’s license. Officers agreed to let Lee be treated in the emergency room before arresting him. While he was in, it was confirmed that Lee’s warrant was $15,000. Lee was charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle.
DUI charged
Sally Jo Hopkins, 37, 127 Howard St., was arrested at the first block of South Lincoln Avenue on four counts of driving under the influence of drugs at 9:29 May 29.
