BATAVIA

Theft of less than $300

  • At 12:33 p.m. June 22 on the 800 block of Newberry Drive, an unsecured boys bicycle worth $150 was taken.
  • At 1:31 p.m. June 22 on the 1000 block of Jackson Street, two bottles of prescription medicine were taken from a residence.


Theft of more than $300

  • At 1:20 p.m. June 22 on the 200 block of Republic Road, a backpack blower estimated at $600 was removed from a trailer.
  • At 8:13 p.m. June 28 at Chuck E. Cheese, 511 N. Randall Road, a cell phone worth $400 was taken.


Warrant service
Lacy M. Howen, 42, 38W208 Smith Road, Elburn, was taken into custody at 9:12 a.m. June 23 at 291 Oswalt Ave. Howen had an outstanding Batavia warrant for unlawful interference with public utility. His bond was set at $5,000 with 10 percent payable. He was transported to the police department and given a July 14 court date after posting $500 bond.

Pool damaged
At 5:12 p.m. June 23, police responded to the 1000 block of Weston Court. An unknown person entered the victim’s backyard, threw yard items into a pool and put an unknown chemical in causing the pool to cloud up. The gate was damaged and an air conditioning unit was possibly damaged.

Consumption of alcohol by a minor

  • Stephen M. Hewitt, 19, 1041 Hodge Lane, was taken into custody at 1:03 a.m. June 25 at the 300 block of Laurel Street, processed and issued a notice of summary suspension for consumption of alcohol by a minor. Hewitt received a court date of July 21 after posting $100 bond.
  • Keith D. Hayes, 20, 755 Church St., was taken into custody for consumption and possession of alcohol by a minor at 12:13 a.m. June 29 on the 400 block of Church Street. The responding officer transported Hayes to the Kane County Jail on an outstanding warrant


Burglary
At 5:54 a.m. June 24 at Bartholet Concrete, 786 Main St., unknown subjects stole several tools from a garage and broke into a work truck. The estimated value of stolen and damaged items is $3,800.

Possession of marijuana
At 4:55 p.m. June 25 on the first block of West Wilson Street, three juveniles were found with marijuana, processed and released to their parents. They were referred to juvenile court.

Traffic arrest
A male juvenile from Batavia was taken into custody on the first block of East Wilson Street at 10:37 p.m. June 25 and charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, improper lane use and failure to give information after striking other property. Subject was released to his mother and given a July 14 court date.

GENEVA

Burglary

  • Between 9 p.m. Friday, June 26, and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, one Pioneer single compact disc and radio system was stolen from a car at 2288 Vanderbilt Drive. The value was $50.
  • Between 9 p.m. June 22 and 11 a.m. June 23, a black wallet with various items and a pair of men’s size 12 gym shoes were stolen out of a vehicle at 3375 Harvest Ridge Road. The vehicle was unlocked. The total value was $500, including credit cards, two $50 massage gift cards, an airline voucher worth $100 and other cards. The shoes were worth $80.


Disorderly conduct
Seoncq M. Falese, 40, of Davenport, Iowa, was found by officers screaming outside of his mother’s house, 817 Dryden Road, at 1:25 a.m. Sunday, June 28. His mother called the police because he was screaming inside and outside in an intoxicated state. Falese was found to have a warrant for his arrest from St. Charles for possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $5,000. Falese also was given a disorderly conduct ticket and transported to the St. Charles Police Department.

Theft under $300
Between 2:40 p.m. and 3:03 p.m. June 27, 10 brown plastic chairs were stolen from 307 Anderson Blvd. Each chair was worth $20.

Possession of liquor by a minor
George Anthony Orthon, 19, 39W362 Curtis Square was stopped at 7:41 p.m. June 24, on the 500 block of West State Street. Neither he nor his passenger was wearing a seat belt. Officers noticed a bottle of vodka and issued an unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor ticket and a citation for not wearing a seat belt. Orthon posted bond and will have a court date of July 21. It did not appear as though he had been drinking before driving.

Criminal trespass
Jessica A. Taylor, 30, Mount Airy, N.C., was brought to the hospital by someone because she was intoxicated at 4:43 a.m. June 24. When Taylor refused treatment and the person who brought her refused to take her back, police arrested Taylor for criminal trespass to land and public intoxication because of her refusal to leave the property or get treatment.

DUI
Michele L. Mills, 37, 23 Castlebar Court, South Elgin, was pulled over at 2:12 a.m. June 20 on the 1700 block of West State Street. Mills was charged with two counts of DUI and one of improper lane use. Mills court date will be July 7.

Public intoxication
Brandon R. Altergott, 34, 317 Indiana Ave., St. Charles, was kicked out of Old Town Pub, 201 W. State St., and tried to start a conversation with officers at 2:03 a.m. June 24. When he didn’t comply with officers to stay on the sidewalk, he was given a public intoxication ticket and warning for improper walking on highway.

Underage drinking cited

  • Corey Dougherty, 19, 908 S. Harrison St., Batavia, was pulled over on the 500 block of West State Street for driving 37 mph in a 25 mph zone at 12:40 a.m. June 24. Dougherty was given a speeding ticket and cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor.
  • Michael R. Albrecht, 20, 1800 Forest Ridge Road, St. Charles, was given a ticket for consumption of alcohol by a minor on the 1700 block of West State Street at 12:59 a.m. June 22.
