Last year, Mike DeJesus was laid off from his job with an airline at O’Hare International Airport. Since then, he found another job at the airport, but at a lower salary. In order to save money where he can, DeJesus visits local garage sales to get some clothes and toys for his children.
At 7 p.m. July 10, the Windmill Whirl 5k Race, which the Batavia Park District calls a “runner’s dream,” will kick off as part of the Windmill City Festival.
The Forest Preserve District is encouraging Kane County’s youngest citizens to ride safely this summer, by hosting two “bicycle rodeos,” designed to teach bike safety to children.
The program, first launched in January, is in its first year and is available for downtown business owners who might be short on funding to make interior renovations to their properties.
The Illinois State Police will conduct a roadside safety check from 9 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday at the Interstate 88 exit ramp at Route 31 in Kane County.
Harris is a project manager for an experimental project which looks to study neutrinos. Very little is understood about neutrinos, and Harris hopes to solve one of sciences current mysteries.
