
Concerts and lectures featuring Gilbert and Sullivan music, Bobby McFerrin, violinist Paul Vanderwerf, the ambassador of Luxembourg and former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert are offered this month at Wheaton College.
The college’s Opera Music Theater joins the Men’s Glee Club and Women’s Chorale in a performance of “Patience” by Gilbert and Sullivan at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Jan. 14 to 17, in Edman Memorial Chapel, northeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets, Wheaton. Violinist Paul Vanderwerf will perform at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in Pierce as part of the Orange and Blue on Stage series, showcasing faculty artists. Tickets are available only at the door and cost $6, $4 for students and seniors age 60 and better. For more information, call the conservatory.
Lectures
Jean-Paul Senninger, ambassador of Luxembourg to the United States, will lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, on “Integrating with the European Union: Luxembourg’s Economic and Financial Markets.” The lecture is sponsored by Wheaton College’s Hastert Center for Economics, Government, and Public Policy, and is free to the public.
