
Achievements
• John Gorman of St. Charles and Emily Van Acker of St. Charles have been named to the University of St. Thomas spring semester dean’s list. Students must post grade-point averages of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to be named to the dean’s list.
• Jennifer Koska and Matthew Shultz of Geneva and Genevieve Coulson, James Davis, Sally Fischer, Russell Mulkey, Elizabeth Roan, Eric Schafernak, Allison Stephens and Angela Bradburn of St. Charles have been awarded a Presidential Scholarship at Drake University beginning in the fall 2007 semester. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded on the basis of the student’s academic and leadership achievement and ranges from $7,000 to $12,000.
• Michelle Sutcliffe of St. Charles and Stacy Thompson of St. Charles have been named on the Central Michigan University’s spring semester honors list. The spring semester ended in May.
• Amanda Fricke and Steven Trout of Batavia and Maggie Griffin of St. Charles have been named to the dean’s list/honor roll for the spring semester of the 2006-07 academic year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
• Elizabeth Bonifas of Batavia has been inducted to Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. An induction ceremony was held on May 15 during the College’s Honors Day, a day set aside to celebrate students academic achievements and undergraduate research. Elizabeth is a junior at North Central College.
• Noble Fool Theatricals’ youth ensemble members are ready to take stage in the National Touring Co.'s production of Disney's “High School Musical” at the La Salle Theatre this August. The summer performance dates at the La Salle Theatre are Aug. 7 to 12. NFT Performing Arts Academy students involved in this opportunity include St. Charles residents Alex Adams, Megan Gill, Sarah Beth Rabin, Rachel Whiteside; Geneva resident Daniel Velisek; Batavia resident David Gotfryd; West Chicago resident Nadia Pelletier; Naperville residents Hannah Krusinger, Emily Sanderson; Carol Stream residents Carissa Gouskos, Sami Lauf; Wayne resident Sonia El-Sherif; and South Barrington residents Mary Geraci, Victoria Geraci. Noble Fool Theatricals is located within Pheasant Run Resort and Spa at 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.

• Local residents are among Aurora University students who completed graduation requirements in May. Graduates from Geneva include Melissa Beier, Nicole Bonkoski, Stephanie Bun, Kenneth Carlson, Teresa Cinquegrani, Merry Edmondson, Jeffrey Ellibee, Thea Garfield, Amanda Kloese, Melissa Lower, and Todd Nicholson. Graduates from St. Charles include Rachel Barnard, Caleb Beltran, Steven Binns, Tamara Bone, Kathy Brummel, Kenneth Denson, Alesha Foss, Holly Holden, Gary Hoyne, Kelly McGrath, Gretchen Mata, Kathleen May-Ernst, Michael Murphy, Sally O'Rourke, Colleen Parker, Heather-Jane Quick, Amy VanRoekel, Meagen Yerges, and Philip Zelman.
• Cassandra Salzmann of St. Charles graduated at the commencement on May 19 at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights.
• Kevin Mead of Geneva was honored as a graduate of the Donald V. Adams Leadership Institute at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Graduates of the academy are recognized for their scholastic aptitude, commitment to the Drake community and leadership potential.
• Allison Macaione of St. Charles graduated May 19 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's commencement day for spring 2007.
• Local students who have graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa after the 2007 spring semester include Kristen Augustine of Geneva, bachelor of business administration, Emily Morin of Geneva, bachelor of arts, Alex Carges of St. Charles, bachelor of business administration, Joseph Donia of St. Charles, bachelor of arts in journalism, and Joseph Fiesel of St. Charles, doctor of pharmacy.
