The city of Chicago and Kohl’s Department Stores are sponsoring the 15th annual Mayor’s Cup Youth Soccer Tournament on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13.
This free tournament takes place in Lincoln Park at Montrose Harbor beginning at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. both days with an awards presentation after the championship game.
The Mayor’s Cup Youth Soccer Tournament is presented by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events in conjunction with the Chicago Park District and is one of the largest youth soccer tournaments in the United States.
Matches take place on 30 playing fields featuring a five-on five format with more than 300 teams.
Competition is open to pre-registered boys and girls (registration is open now), ages 5-14 of all skill levels.
In addition, there are family activities between games, such as a climbing wall and jumping jack. Free entertainment takes place in the fun zone each day from noon to 2 p.m. and includes dancing live music, the Jesse White Tumblers and more.
