Lemont High School will play host to a football camp providing world-class, deep snapping instruction from the “SnapDoctor,” Shane Hackney, on June 27-28.
The comprehensive two-day program costs $300, and is open to snappers of all ages and skill levels.
In-person registration will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, at Lemont High School, which is located at 800 Porter Street in Lemont.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on June 27, and from 8 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on June 28.
Creator of the video, Techniques & Drills for Effective Deep Snapping!, Hackney has trained hundreds of coaches and snappers, from beginners to pros, and helps place about 25 snappers with college programs annually.
The SnapDoctor Camp will emphasize fundamentals relevant to all snappers, which can be adapted to any individual’s build, snapping style and physical capabilities. All SnapDoctor coaches are former snappers at the college level or higher and have completed Hackney’s rigorous coach training program.
Because deep snapping is often an under-coached skill, coaches work hard to ensure that every participant leaves camp with a solid understanding of snapping mechanics and self-coaching techniques. Every athlete will receive customized, personal attention, and a DVD documenting his progress through camp.
Every fall, SnapDoctor distributes a list of promising snappers to more than 850 college football programs, and aspiring college snappers receive a regularly updated list of college opportunities.
Snapping SuperStars, an invitation-only camp for the “best of the best” college snappers, will be held at Elmhurst College on July 12-13, 2008.
