If there's one thing Bartlett's softball team does well, it is hit the ball. While the Hawks are well versed in all areas, offense has never been lacking.
They proved as much in Thursday's 6-2 win over Schaumburg in a semifinal game of the Schaumburg regioal. Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Hawks exploded for six runs in their half of the inning to move into the regional championship game against West Chicago at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Megan Morales belted a two-run homer to straight away centerfield to tie the game at 2-2 with no outs in the bottom of the fourth.
Jackie Gulczynski followed with a run-scoring double before Chelsea Klein and Rachel Anello collected RBI singles.
Callie Dennison, who was on base for Morales' homer, scattered four hits and fanned seven to earn the win in the circle.
