U-46 teachers earn top certification status

School district U-46 announced Tuesday that 23 teachers recently earned National Board Certifications and will be presented with certificates of achievement by the board of education at the next meeting on Monday, Jan. 10. The district now has a total of 53 board certified teachers.

National Board Certification is the highest credential a teacher can obtain, according to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. A certification is completed through rigorous performance-based assessment between one to three years to improve student achievement both inside and outside the classroom.
