Bartlett Hills Golf Course is looking to drive more golfers to the greens this summer.
Bob Gavelek, manager of the village-owned golf club, said many residents don’t even know the course exists.
“The golf course is kind of hidden back here — we’re always struggling with the identify issue of who are we and what are we about,” Gavelek said.

To increase visibility, the club will install a sign on its property along Route 59 and Pebble Beach Drive.
The Village Board approved Bartlett-based Signet Sign Co. to design the sign — which will display the club’s name and also include an electronic message board with course rates and special deals — at its meeting last week. Gavelek anticipates the sign will be installed by the end of summer.
Following a national trend, the club’s business has been slow for the past five years.
Although business was up 4 percent last year, revenue was down due to the number of rain checks the club issued.
