Bartlett, IL -

An Elgin resident was charged with driving under the influence after hitting a pedestrian with her car early Thursday morning.

Around 3:43 a.m. Thursday, the Bartlett Police Department and the Bartlett Fire Protection District responded to a liquor establishment at 1175 W. Lake St. for a report of a patron who suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

Police said a 23-year-old Hanover Park man was leaving the liquor establishment when he was struck in the parking lot by Kristin K. Dwyer, 26, of 8N840 Hopps Road, Elgin, who was driving a white 2009 Toyota Corolla. Following an investigation, police charged Dwyer with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited her for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to Sherman Hospital by the Bartlett paramedics.

Dwyer was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond. She was issued a court date of Nov. 24 in the Cook County court facility in Rolling Meadows.
