Village Administrator Valerie Salmons announced Friday that she permanently appointed Kent Williams as Chief of the Bartlett Police Department.

According to village officials, Williams has been with the Bartlett department since 1985.
He’s served as a sergeant and a commander. Since 2005, he’s worked as deputy chief of operations.
Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice management from Aurora University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Police Executive Research Forum, Senior Management Institute for Police taught at the John F. “Kent has a 26-year history of the highest standard of law enforcement commitment to the village of Bartlett,” Salmons said in a statement. “He has demonstrated his professionalism during those years. I am very proud to promote Kent to the position of Chief of Police. I look forward to his leadership in his new role.”
