With the heavy snow over for now, life is getting back to normal.
All of the village's streets are fully plowed and open. While the kids get to enjoy another snow day, most other facilities are returning to regular working hours.
Bartlett resident Kari Herbst did not venture out in the snow today. Herbst said she spent the day digging out of her driveway and noted that her neighborhood on Harvard Court didn't get plowed until about 1 p.m.
Bartlett resident and teacher's assistant Kari Herbst said she enjoyed her day off today which was primarily spent digging out of her driveway, but said she anticipates the roads to be better tomorrow and more businesses to be open.
"Tomorrow I'm going to get some stuff done," she said.
Bartlett Police Sgt. Geoff Pretkelis said this morning that he anticipated utilizing extra staff and keeping active the emergency traffic plan through Thursday, but at 3 p.m. said the police department was canceling the emergency plans.
The police department will still operate a warming center through 6 p.m. Pretkelis said that they had three stranded motorists take advantage of the center since it opened on Tuesday afternoon.
Bannerman's Sports Grill decided to brave the weather and open the bar to thirsty patrons this afternoon with $.50 wing specials.
However, Michael Hull, owner of Hull's Pub said Tuesday he expected to open at 3 p.m. this afternoon, but ended up staying closed. A post on the bar's Facebook page said "closed till Thursday--Drinkin starts at 11."
