WESTCHESTER – The village threw its inaugural BBQ Block Party on Saturday – a new, sweet and smoky treat for residents this year.

The event, one of several summer activities designed to replace Westchester Fest, was from noon to 9 p.m. at the Community Center Park, 10202 Bond St.

The event included barbecue food, a beer tent, live music, games and other activities. It concluded with a fireworks show at St. Joseph High School.
