Three new tenants including Buffalo Wild Wings, Verizon Wireless and the Vitamin Shoppe have been signed to leases in the Berwyn Gateway project at the northeast corner of Cermak Road and Harlem Avenue, said Tony Griffin, executive director of the Berwyn Development Corporation.
Demolition of the existing structures will begin Thursday, and the new tenants hope to open stores by the end of the year.
Griffin also said that he hopes to announce three additional tenants within the next 60 days, which will bring the project to 100 percent occupancy, bringing the city's involvement to a close.
“This is the finish line for us,” said Griffin, noting that once the spaces are occupied, the city will hand the project over to the developers.
