LEMONT – Old Quarry Middle School has been named the 2020 Illinois Horizon School to Watch. The news came after a rigorous application process and external team site visit this past month. Only three schools in Illinois were selected for an initial site visit for this designation.
This award is given to schools that demonstrate academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social equity, and organizational structures and processes designed to support a trajectory toward excellence.
Old Quarry Middle School will be honored at the National Schools to Watch conference in Washington, D.C. in June. As an Illinois Horizon School to Watch, OQMS is now part of a network of approximately only 400 other schools across the US who have attained this premiere status.
