An ex-employee of the Best Western Hotel in Bolingbrook called 911 on Halloween and disguised his voice while falsely claiming he was having a medical emergency, police said.

About midnight Wednesday, officers were sent to the hotel at 225 W. South Frontage Road after receiving a report of ex-employee Larry McDowell, 35, refusing to leave the property, Bolingbrook police Lt. Anthony Columbus said in an email.

The officers met with McDowell, escorted him from the property and gave him a trespass warning, Columbus said.

One officer remained in the area afterward and saw McDowell return to the Best Western, he said.

“He was stopped and once again informed he was not allowed on property,” Columbus said.

About 12:30 a.m. on Halloween, McDowell called 911 and tried to disguise his voice, Columbus said. McDowell claimed he was a guest at the hotel and was having a medical emergency, he said.

Paramedics were sent to Best Western and went to the room where McDowell claimed to be, Columbus said. However, a guest who was not McDowell confirmed they did not call 911, he said.

Officers once again saw McDowell near the hotel and confirmed he made the 911 call from his cellphone, Columbus said.

McDowell was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property and making a false 911 complaint.

McDowell was booked into the Will County jail and his bond was set at $3,000.
