Park District seeks input from residents

LEMONT – Keeping in line with the Lemont Park District’s commitment to serving the community, the agency is continuously developing a comprehensive master plan. The goal of this plan is to update an ongoing road map for the future.

In partnership with the consultant team of StudioGC and Public Research Group, the district will engage in this planning process.

A huge part of this process is to obtain insight into the community’s desires for parks, facilities and services that the park district should strive to provide in the future. To gather feedback and information from residents, the district will launch an interactive program titled, “Make Your Park District.”

This cooperative platform will include an opportunity to complete a comprehensive survey, as well as participate in the Lemont Park District Board of Commissioners Listening Tour. The survey will enable residents to weigh in on several topics.

The Listening Tour provides an opportunity for staff and board members to listen to residents as they share thoughts on topics as well as contribute ideas.

Surveys will be mailed out to randomly selected homes. The survey also will be available to the public in the middle of October.

The Lemont Park District Commissioner Listening Tour will be:

• 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Lemont Library, 50 E. Wend St.

• 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at the Centennial Community Center, 16028 127th St.

• 10 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Lemont Police Department, 14600 127th St.

• 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at Safety Village, 55 Stephen St.
