Home organizer to appear at bookstore in Burr Ridge

BURR RIDGE – Professional home organizer Caralyn Kempner will appear at Barbara’s Bookstore in Burr Ridge, where she will host a home organizing Q&A and book signing at 1 p.m. Aug. 17.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to buy autographed copies of Kempner’s recently released book, “Top-to-Bottom Home Organizing,” and meet Kempner.

Kempner also will present a teaching seminar at the Burr Ridge Park District from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 15.

Inspired by the minimalist lifestyle, Kempner’s book covers a wide range of topics and provides a straightforward, systematic approach to home organization. In six easy-to-read sections, Kempner shares not only her expertise on how to declutter and maximize space, but also common challenges that readers may face along with organizational tips and tricks and maintenance strategies to help sustain any living space. Detailed illustrations provide further insight on how to arrange one’s home.

“A home organizing journey begins with a single step, which is always the steepest,” Kempner said. “People are unaware that their belongings are placed in inconvenient spots and often do not know how to go about containing articles since they are subjective to their space. But even the smallest step to create a proper storage arrangement will allow them to locate articles and help return them to a designated storage place encouraging long-term order.”

Whether looking to organize one’s entire home, home office or garage, Kempner outlines each space’s particular needs and shows readers how to break down organizational tasks into manageable, easy-to-follow steps and then spread them out over time to ensure success. Kempner also reveals budget-friendly, mid-range and high-end storage options, and the shelf life of fruits and vegetables, cosmetics, and popular household products.

Published by Yaz Publishing, “Top-to-Bottom Home Organizing”is available in both paperback for $22.95 and e-book for $9.99 at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and independent bookstores. For information, visit www.caralynkempner.com.
