WHEATON – The Downtown Wheaton Association will host the 4th annual Wheaton Wine Walk from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 8 in downtown Wheaton.
This year’s event will feature new tasting locations, an enhanced paint and sip experience and discounts or chances to win prizes from the tasting locations. Also new this year is transportation, including the wine bus and a tuk tuk to take participants to the various tasting locations.
Participants can purchase a ticket for the paint and sip event that follows the wine walk. Tickets are $15 and include a choice of a blank red or white stemless 12-ounce glass, painting supplies, instruction in a paint studio, individual attention from artists on staff, guidelines for curing and caring the glass and a chance to win a public canvas event for four.
The event features wines from around the world hosted at many downtown Wheaton businesses. Tastings begin at the new Martin Memorial Plaza where participants will check in and pick up their tasting ticket, wine glass and walking map. The first 500 attendees to check in will receive a bonus wine tote and an additional chance to enter one of the drawings at the tasting locations.
Participants will enjoy 12 one-ounce tastings in the souvenir wine glass. Tickets are $35 a person in advance and $40 a person at the event. Additional tastings will be available for purchase at the event and will cost $5 for three one-ounce pours or $15 for 12 one-ounce pours. Participants must be 21 to participate and need to present a picture ID at check-in. Tickets can be purchased at downtownwheaton.com.
