Berwyn to host Friendly Music Fest

The first Friendly Music Fest will be May 31 and June 1 at Friendly Music Community, 6733 W. Roosevelt Road, Berwyn.

The fest will run from 6 to 11 p.m. May 31 and 5 to 11 p.m. June 1 at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Roosevelt Road.

The lineup includes the Yellowhammers, Yarn, Waco Brothers, Bendita, Cannonball, Hayes Carll and Cathy Richardson.

A single-day pass is $25 and a pass for both days is $40. One-day family passes are available for $80.

For information, call  Rob Pierce at 708-484-9794 or visit www.friendlymusic.community.

In 2007, Pierce took the reins from “Friendly Bob” Rolder, and he kept the old atmosphere while creating a fresh concept for the establishment. No longer just the Friendly Tap on Roosevelt, it’s the Friendly Music Community, an integration of three friendly services in Berwyn. The first is the Friendly Tap, a venue for live, local music several nights a week. The Friendly Coffee Lounge is located in the same space, and the Friendly School of Folk Music completes the Friendly Music Community.
