Westmont baseball coach D.J. Cocks earns 300th career win

Matt O'Leary went 4-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, a triple and two stolen bases for the Sentinels in a 9-3 win over Chicago University on April 9. Alex Marotta went 2-for-3 with his 100th career hit, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base, Troy Schlicher had two runs scored and an RBI and Riley Basit doubled and drove in two runs for Westmont (9-5). Winning pitcher Shawn Kwasny (2-1) struck out five over six innings.

Basit was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored for Westmont in a 5-3 win over Kirkland-Hiawatha on April 9, earning Sentinels' head coach D.J. Cocks his 300th career win. Schlicher was 2-for-3 with a triple, run scored and an RBI, and Joey Dobrovolony (3-0) threw six shutout innings with 12 strikeouts for the win.

GIRLS SOCCER

Benet

Abby Casmere and Sarah Bozych each scored two goals, both of Bozych's goals assisted by Cami Picha, in Benet's 5-0 win over Oak Park-River Forest on April 11. Mia Ullmer added an unassisted goal and Katie Lewellyan and Kate Flyn assisted Casmere's goals for the Redwings (9-1-0). Eva Frantzen had the shutout in goal.

GIRLS TRACK

Hinsdale Central

Hinsdale Central earned third place at its Devilette Track Invitational on April 13. First-place finishers for the Red Devils included Taylor Wagner in the 3,200-meter run (11:43.74), Emma Watcke in the 800 (2:21.15), Mckenna Revord in the 1,600 (5:10.41), Ellie Geier in the 300 hurdles (49.17) and the 1,600 relay team of Kayla Byrne, Geier, Bella Pisani and Watcke (4:06.29).

At the same meet Hinsdale South's Andrea Stirling won the 100 (12.91) and the 200 (27.11).
