DG Marchers to host March 17 candidate forum

Village, school board hopefuls to field voters' questions

DOWNERS GROVE – Voters will have an opportunity to learn more about the candidates running for Downers Grove Village Council and two local school boards at the March 17 Candidate Conversations.

Hosted by the DG Marchers, the event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Ave.

Candidates set to attend include mayoral hopefuls Marge Earl, Bob Barnett and David Olsen as well as commissioner candidates Rich Kulovany, Leslie Sadowski-Fugitt and Nicole Walus. Five candidates are battling for three seats on the Village Council.

The attendance list also includes Downers Grove Grade School District 58 candidates Kylie Spahn, Emily Hanus and Steve Olczyk along with incumbents Elizabeth Sigale and Kirat Doshi. Five candidates are running for three four-year terms on the board.

Tracy Weiner and incumbent Doug Purcell, who are running for the two-year term on the board, also will attend.

Community High School District 99 candidates Joanna Drexler as well as incumbents Michael Davenport, Nancy Kupka and Don Renner also will be in attendance. The District 99 race features five candidates for three seats.

Early voting starts March 18. The consolidated election is April 2. For information on voting registration or candidates, visit www.dupageco.org/election.
