GLEN ELLYN – "A Night of Italian Opera" will be a festive fundraising event featuring dinner and a performance of Giacomo Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” on March 9 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn.

The benefit will offer cocktail hour and dinner at 6 p.m. and dessert and opera at 8 p.m. There's also an option of dessert and opera only. The respective cost is $75 and $50.

The comic, one-act opera will be conducted by Greg Tufts, and singers are SeungHyeon Baek, Kathleen Monson, Drew Watson, Christina Bernardoni, Brian Pember, Kelsea Webb, Aaron Wardell, Leah Matthews, Ben Ross, Stephen Hobe and Kenneth Nichols.

Proceeds will benefit the St. Mark’s choir program and Shelter for All, a nonprofit dedicated to housing the homeless and providing affordable housing in DuPage County.

The program will be given in the church's Mahon Hall at 393 N. Main St. Tickets are offered at nightofitalianopera.org.
