As a junior, Jones was stuck behind a talented group of frontcourt players. His playing time was limited.
“I was competing for minutes against two pretty skilled bigs, so I was just there for certain instances in the game,” Jones said.
This season, after a strong showing and aided by confidence with his AAU team, the 6-foot-7 Jones has become a reliable inside presence on a Trojans’ team without another player taller than 6-4.
“I feel that my role on the team has definitely motivated me and made me want to improve my decision-making skills in games and to play the best I can play,” Jones said.
