Bond was set Dec. 6 for two of four men accused of stealing iPads and iPhones from a Bensenville T-Mobile store and an Elmhurst Sprint store Dec. 3.
Shiayon Andrews, 18, of Harvey, and an unnamed juvenile each have been charged with two counts of burglary, a Class 2 felony, and two counts of theft, a Class 3 felony.
Bond was set at $75,000 for Andrews and Judge Michael Wolfe ordered the juvenile be detained, according to a DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office news release.
It is alleged that about 11:51 a.m., Dec. 3, the four men entered the Bensenville T-Mobile store at 1137 S. York Road and stole multiple iPads and iPhones. They then left the store and about 10 minutes later entered the Elmhurst Sprint store at 624 N. York Road, where they stole similar merchandise before leaving the store.
An investigation conducted by the Elmhurst and Bensenville police departments led to the suspects, who both were taken into custody Dec. 5.
“Yet again we see four men allegedly traveling to DuPage County intent on committing a crime,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin said in the release. “I am confident as this investigation continues we will charge the remaining suspects in this case.”
The investigation into the matter continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the Elmhurst Police Department at 630-530-3050.
Andrews’ next court appearance, for arraignment, is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2019.
