ELMHURST – Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 invites adult community members to submit nominations of outstanding alumni for the York Distinguished Alumni Program’s 2019 Dukes of Distinction.
Nominees must be a York Community High School alumnus or alumna who graduated no later than 2008 and has distinguished himself or herself through extraordinary accomplishments, service or an outstanding contribution to society, according to a district news release.
Candidates must serve as a positive influence and exemplify the honored York traditions of teamwork and selflessness and embody the ideals of the high school and the district, the release stated.
Nominators do not need to be York graduates, and posthumous nominations will be accepted, according to the release. Self-nominations, howeverm will not be accepted, the release stated.
Nominators are asked to be as specific as possible when submitting the application and include as much biographical information about the nominee as possible, according to the release.
The deadline is April 30, 2019, for the fall 2019 York Distinguished Alumni Award, the release stated. Nominations received after that date will be considered for the following year, according to the release.
