Suburban Life Sound Off: Sept. 24-30

'Keep up the kindness'

I just want to thank everyone for their kindness. I recently had to have my back fused with severe stenosis, and I had to walk with a walker. So many people opened doors for me, and I can't believe how many times I said thank you. At my orthopedics office, on a rainy day, when my pain was so excessive, I was trying to get the walker out of my vehicle. A gentleman appeared out of nowhere and took my walker out for me. I can't believe the kindness of people out there, helping those with disabilities. I've always helped people who had limited mobility and everything if they wanted it, and I just want to say thank you to everyone out there, and please keep up the kindness. It is so greatly appreciated.

Voters decide term limits

Do you like other people telling you who you can or can't vote for? I'll go out on a limb and say that you don't. Well, if you want term limits, that's exactly what you are going to get. I understand if you don't like Nancy Pelosi or Mitch McConnell, but you live in northern Illinois, not California, not Kentucky. Everyone wants "the other guy" term limited, but not my guy. We have term limits. Every two, four and six years, we have a chance to either replace someone in Congress or the White House, or reward them with another term. It's your choice, not limited by a random number generated by the government.

Kavanaugh 'fails' job interview

Brett Kavanaugh failed his latest job interview by showing his extreme hostility, untruthfulness, partisanship and loyalty to [President Donald] Trump. Would you get a job (let alone one that is lifetime and the second most important job in America) if you acted like him in your interview? He acts like an elitist who is entitled to every thing (and anyone) he wants. We deserve better than him, and there are many qualified candidates. Let's not make it the Sleazy Court of the United States.

Cut back subsidies

Subsidies need to be cut back. Our tax dollars are being spent on lazy people who just don't want to work. Those who need this, yes! But the majority are riding on the Democrats' tails. Time to get our freedom back.
