LA GRANGE – Skeletons are again lounging in La Grange ahead of Halloween as part of the La Grange Business Association's third annual Skeletober.
The 50 friendly, life-sized skeletons will be outside shops and restaurants through Oct. 31. Each skeleton is sponsored by a local business as a way of inviting visitors to explore La Grange, according to an LGBA news release.
People are encouraged to take pictures with the skeletons and post them on social media by tagging the LGBA and using "#skeletoberlagrange" to be entered in several random prize drawings throughout the month, the release stated.
A map indicating where each skeleton is located, as well as information about seasonal offers at local businesses, is available at participating merchants or online at lagrangeevents.com.
The map also includes information about the Halloween Walk, a trick-or-treat parade for kids led by the Greater La Grange YMCA on Oct. 27. Lineup starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Cossitt Avenue School playground, 115 W. Cossitt Ave., La Grange, and the walk goes from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with treats provided by local businesses. Beginning at 11:30, the YMCA will provide crafts and activities for kids on the lawn near the fountain at La Grange Village Hall, 53 S. La Grange Road.
Skeletober is sponsored by the Jasinski Home Team, a local real estate business, and it is held with the support of the village of La Grange, according to the release.
