ELMHURST – The Union Pacific Railroad crossing at Myrtle Avenue in Elmhurst is scheduled to be closed from Sept. 11 through 21, weather permitting, for track repairs.
The project includes removing a track and rebuilding the crossing, and the northernmost rail will be removed to allow for a smoother transition between the tracks and road, according to a city of Elmhurst news release.
The vehicular crossing also will be rebuilt to improve accessibility across the tracks at Myrtle Avenue, the release stated. A detour will be posted.
