“Margaret does a great job of staying consistent, which is something I brought to the teams that I played on, too,” Katherine said. “She does a good job of not riding too high or too low and being that calming force out there that kind of drives the direction of how the whole team can go.”
Katherine, who is hunting for a job in the medical field, hopes to attend more of Downers North’s games this fall as the end of an era draws near.
“It’s great to kind of see her come full circle,” Katherine said. “She always came to all of our games growing up, so it’s kind of nice to be on the other end of that, watching her get out there and get after it and really just take everything she watched over the years [and succeed].”
In doing so, Margaret has made a name for herself while adding to her family’s distinguished legacy.
“She has,” Wasik said. “Rather than feeling she was in [Katherine’s] shadow, she’s used Katherine’s experience to push herself and only seen it as a benefit.”
