ELMHURST – About 3,000 people enjoyed music, food, entertainment and more at the Elmhurst Park District's Park Palooza on Aug. 25 at Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave., Elmhurst.
The Park District expanded the beer and wine garden at this year's event, which was "hugely popular," Director of Marketing and Communications Kari Felkamp said in an email. The family fun area was "packed all night" as many people enjoyed the obstacle course, face-painting and the sand art tent, she said.
An assortment of food trucks also were on the scene.
Park District staff were scheduled to meet the week of Aug. 27 to discuss what worked well and look at areas of improvement, including adding more food trucks and children's activities, as well as expanding the fencing to accommodate more people for future events, Felkamp said.
The district invites those who attended Park Palooza this year to give feedback on the event via a survey at surveymonkey.com/r/HN2NCRG. The survey will be open until the end of the day Sept. 3, she said.
