WHEATON – Wheaton police officers responded at about 10 a.m. Aug. 12 to a report of flyers promoting the white supremacist group Patriot Front posted to light poles in downtown Wheaton.
Most of the flyers were torn down when officers arrived at the scene, Deputy Police Chief P.J. Youker said.
He said the person who called police about the flyers apparently tore the majority of them down before police arrived.
"I think we only found a couple, and we removed them because they were in violation of the city's posting ordinance," Youker said.
Police were not able to find the person who posted the flyers, he said.
