Trucks are coming
On July 18, the Darien Planning and Zoning Commission passed a variance allowing Sterling Bay to build a warehouse with 31 trucking docks on Frontage Road and Cass Avenue adjacent to Waterfall Glen. If only eight semi-trucks per day come to each of the 31 docks, then over 90,000 semi-trucks will invade Darien, Willowbrook, Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Burr Ridge and other nearby towns with thoroughfares! ... Fellow neighbors, there's still time to stop this from happening and keep the serene grounds of Waterfall Glen, the Carmelite Campus and Our Lady of Mount Carmel peaceful and pristine. Voice your opposition at the next meeting of...the Darien Municipal Services Committee at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27. Show up and speak up, or get ear plugs. Don't let Darien and its surrounding towns become noisy and polluted places to live.
Are you missing a beautiful boy's bike? There has been one locked to a streetlamp at 515 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn. It has been there since July 26. If you have the key, it must be yours! Go check it out. This has been reported to the Police Department, but they have not removed it yet [as of Aug. 1].

Do you really want to pay for Mr. [Donald] Trump’s failed policy?
